Pool Refurbishment Notice: The pool at Southwell Leisure Centre will be closed for refurbishment until Summer 2026. During this time, customers can continue swimming at our nearby centres as part of our partnership with Southwell Leisure Centre Trust: Bingham Arena, Cotgrave Leisure Centre, Keyworth Leisure Centre, and Rushcliffe Arena. All pools in Rushcliffe Arena are available on a pay and play basis. Customers who join a swimming lessons programme at any centre can also enjoy free swimming across all pools. Additional swimming lessons places have been made available to support pupils who previously used the learner pool at Southwell. Learning to swim is a vital life skill that benefits individuals of all ages. It not only enhances personal safety in various water environments but also fosters confidence and enjoyment in aquatic activities. Our structured programme ensures that participants complete all 7 stages of swimming proficiency, which is crucial for mastering water safety.
Designed for school-aged children, our swimming lessons will be divided into progressive stages. Each stage will encourage young swimmers to develop their skills, building both confidence and competence in the water.
Our baby and toddler swimming lessons will be designed for children aged 3 months to 4 years old. These classes will help build water confidence in a fun and supportive environment. An adult will need to accompany the child in the water during each session.
Our adult swimming lessons will be suitable for all abilities. Whether you will be looking to build confidence, refine your technique, or improve your stamina, we will have a class to suit your needs.
At Southwell Leisure Centre, we will be partnering with Swim England’s Learn to Swim Programme. Our curriculum will cover all 7 primary stages of swimming, incorporating essential training and knowledge checks. This comprehensive approach will ensure that key water safety skills are integrated at every level of learning.
