Working with the RFU, the Try Together T1 Rugby Programme at Downham Health & Leisure Centre provides children and young people with an introduction to non-contact rugby together.
Weekly classes delivered over 10 weeks will reflect the unique characteristics of rugby, including scrums, lineouts, and breakdown in a safe, fun and inclusive environment.
Try Together T1 Rugby Girls
- Age: 8-12 years
- Thursday 17:00 - 18:00 (Fitness Studio or Astro)
- Maximum capacity: 16
Try Together T1 Rugby SEN Children
- Age: 6-12 years
- Saturday 09:00 - 10:00 (Community Hall)
- Maximum capacity: 10
£3 per session or £25 for 10 sessions. Please speak to staff in centre to book blocks of 10 sessions.

Downham Community Festival with T1 Rugby
To celebrate the Women’s Rugby World Cup final at Allianz Stadium, join us on Sunday 21 September between 10:00- 12:00 at our free Community Festival at Downham Health & Leisure Centre.
Working with the RFU, as part of our new Try Together T1 Rugby Programme, alongside a range of fun filled activities, we will be delivering T1 Rugby sessions throughout the morning, providing participants of all ages and abilities with an introduction to non-contact rugby, including scrums, lineouts, and breakdown in a safe, fun and inclusive environment.
