We are dedicated to teaching traditional Shotokan Karate to the very highest standard. Supported and guided by our team of qualified professional instructors, we work to provide a safe environment for our students to grow and achieve their full potential in karate.

Most classes are headed by a professional karate instructor (Sensei), many of which are either current or former National and International Champions.

We recognise the importance of having a goal and with our syllabus and examination programme, you will be able to go all the way to your black belt.

Kuk Sool Won is a traditional Korean martial art which can trace its roots back thousands of years. It can be simplified by translating the 3 words: Kuk - meaning national (Korean) / Sool - meaning technique (martial art) / Won - meaning association.

The art of Kuk Sool is made up of three parts: Sah Doh Moo Sool- Tribal or Family martial arts Bool Doh Moo Sool- Buddhist Temple Martial Arts Koong Joong Moo Sool- Korean Royal Court Martial Arts.

The three branches of traditional Korean martial arts were organized to form a single system, Kuk Sool Won in 1958 by In Hyuk Suh. Kuk Sool Won began spreading out of Korea in 1973 where it was established in the USA.

In 1974 Grandmaster In Hyuk Suh emigrated to the USA and in 1975 the World Kuk Sool Association (WKSA) was established. Also in the same year Kuk Sool Won schools were established in Canada and Great Britain.

The organization now boasts 1.3 million members with over 800 schools in 27 countries. As a martial art system, Kuk Sool Won covers the entire spectrum of Asian fighting arts and body conditioning as well as mental development and traditional weapons training.
