Future Developments at Ilfracombe Pool and Fitness Centre

We are delighted to share news of some investment into the fitness facilities at Ilfracombe Pool and Fitness Centre where we will soon be investing over £30,000 to upgrade a proportion of the gym equipment.
 

What changes are being made to the gym? 

We’ve placed orders with fitness equipment providers Life Fitness and Physical Company to replace selected pieces of equipment in the gym. Particular highlights will include:

• Two replacement Concept 2 rowing machines. 
• A complete range of Life Fitness fixed resistance equipment including Chest Press, Shoulder Press, Row & Pulldown, Leg Press, Leg Extension & Curl, Hip Adductor & Abductor and Pec Fly & Rear Delt machines.
• Three replacement adjustable benches.
• And most exciting of all ... a Hammer Strength Half Rack with an integrated deadlifting platform!
   

What other changes are being made?

As part of the project, we will also be making improvements to the flooring by creating a larger dedicated freeweights area with 40mm rubber flooring.
 

When will this be happening? 

The project is scheduled to be completed w/c 27 July.

Can I still use the Centre?

The Gym will be closed for 1 to 2 days whilst the upgrades are installed, with confirmed dates to be shared in due course. All other areas of the centre will be unaffected.

Whilst the gym is closed for the refurbishments you will be able to access Tarka Leisure Centre fitness facilities at no extra cost.
 

How will I know how to use the new equipment?

All members wishing to use the new equipment will be able to book in for a gym induction. This will be a 1:1 session with a member of staff who will spend time showing you the equipment and making sure you’re confident and competent using it.

You can book an induction or refresher session on the Leisure Centre mobile app or at reception.
 

How will I know what's going on?

We will send out emails with full details, notification via the Leisure Centre mobile app and provide updates on our social media channels. 

This page will also be kept up to date throughout the project in the lead up to the project and throughout.  
  

What will happen to my membership?

There will be no changes to your existing membership. All memberships will be unaffected by this project and payments will continue as per normal.
