We’re investing over £60,000 in new state-of-the-art cardio equipment from Life Fitness, including treadmills, cross trainers and bikes. A large proportion of the new equipment will come with 16 inch “SE4” touch screens with full connectivity and a wide range of immersive on-demand workouts. Customers will also have the ability to use the Life Fitness app for the latest programmes and information: Life Fitness Connect
As well as the new cardio equipment, we’ll also be adding an additional Dual Adjustable Cable Machine and Hammer Strength Plate Loaded Glute Drive.
The new equipment is expected to be installed w/c 16 February 2026. There will be a small closure of the cardio area at Rutland Sports Park whilst the existing equipment is removed and the new equipment is delivered and installed ready for use. This closure is expected to be no more than 3 days. The exact dates and closure period will be confirmed very soon.
Only the cardio area of the gym will be affected and customers will be able to use West Park Leisure Centre and Victoria Park Leisure Centre during this time.
There will be minimal distruption elsewhere within the site and all other areas can be used as normal throughout the project.
Due to the cardio area being closed, there will be no inductions or programme review sessions available with gym staff in this part of the gym.
Fitness Memberships will run as normal and there will be no impact on payments.
All fitness members have the option to utilise the other facilities across the district, including West Park Leisure Centre and Victoria Park Leisure Centre, as part of their membership. All group exercise classes and swimming will continue to be available.
Yes absolutely, we would encourage members to do this. If you would like an induction on the new cardio equipment you can contact the centre here to request this at a suitable date and time.
We will be keeping this FAQ’s page up to date from now until the completion of the project. We will also be sending regular emails to our members and updating our social media channels. We will also have communication on display around the centre updating you with the latest news leading up to and throughout the works.
