Active Nation Filton is now Elm Park Leisure Centre

Frequently Asked Questions

1. When will the centre reopen?

The Centre will reopen on Tuesday 27th May at 12noon, initially serving from the cafe and supporting new and returning members in signing up to the new membership arrangements.

The cafe and reception will remain open from 10am - 4pm for the rest of half term, serving the community and users of the Park.

The gym will reopen on Monday 2nd June, from 7am and the swimming pool will reopen from 7am on Monday 9th June.

We hope to reintroduce swimming lessons and fitness classes as soon as possible in June. We will share further information online and in the centre. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the exit of Active Nation, we do not have any previous customer information so are unable to contact previous lesson participants directly.

2. Our club / group used to hire the facility on a regular basis - how do I get our booking back?

We look forward to welcoming all clubs and groups back to the centre, so please pop in or get in touch and we can set up block booking arrangements again.

3. Who do I contact for more information?

Please use the ‘Contact Us’ link here.

4. When will my child's swimming lessons restart?

We hope to recommence swimming lessons in mid-June and will provide a further update as soon as possible, with opportunities to book onto our lesson programme. Wherever possible, we are hoping to start with the same days / times for consistency. A full plan is currently being developed.

5. How do I become a member again?

Please either view and sign up online here or pop into site and have a chat with us. The Town Council has agreed a discount to previous annual members who were negatively affected by having paid upfront with Active Nation for 1 or more years - please pop into the centre and we can explain how this discount will work.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the exit of Active Nation, we do not have any previous customer information so are unable to contact previous members directly.

6. Are there any discounts for previous members?

Yes. As a goodwill gesture, the Council is offering discounted rates to former members who previously paid upfront for annual or multi-year memberships:

  • 1-year upfront members will receive a £5 monthly discount until 31 December 2025, bringing the monthly fee down to £30.

  • 15-year upfront members will receive a £5 monthly discount until 30 November 2027, with an initial monthly fee of £30 (subject to future annual increases).

These historic membership discounts are available until 30 July 2025. To claim the offer, members must visit the centre in person and provide proof of their previous membership.

7. How will I book classes?

Class bookings can easily be made via our App - the ‘Leisure Centre’ app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store. Any problems with access or use, please do reach out to us via the Contact Us link or speak to us in the centre

8. Will there be new job opportunities?

We will likely be recruiting for a number of new and replacement roles, if you believe that you are community focused then please get in contact for us to talk you through any openings. Our recruitment adverts are all posted here
