What will happen to the group exercise classes?
We’re currently working with the instructors to make sure your favourite classes continue to run to the same timetable from 1 April. We’re also looking at opportunities to offer a wider range of classes and sessions in the future.
What happens to my access to the other centres?
Your membership will continue to include access to Fleetwood Health and Fitness Centre, Thornton Health and Fitness Centre, Poulton Health and Fitness Centre, Garstang Health and Fitness Centre and Garstang Swimming Centre.
What’s happening to all of the current employees?
We’re pleased to welcome our new colleagues to become part of the Creating Active Futures team. We’re currently working with them to prepare for their transfer and train them on our new systems and procedures. We’re also preparing to advertise for additional team members to enhance the member experience - check out our jobs page for more information.
What other investment do you have planned for the centre?
We have a schedule of facility and equipment investment planned for the centre. We’re currently finalising plans and confirming the timelines for these, so we will continue to provide updates for these over the coming months.
Our investments include an exciting gym refurbishment and upgrade, pool activity inflatable and improving the centre’s energy efficiency. Other investments locally at Thornton Health and Fitness Centre will also include a gym refurbishment and upgrade, plus the installation of a soft play area.
What is happening to the spa?
As part of our commitment to the centre and surrounding communities, we currently plan on reopening the spa facilities in the future. A full review of this area needs to be completed once we’re operating the facilities to explore the requirements to make this area operational again. Pricing and fuller details will be provided when we are closer to the reopening.
If you are interested in hiring the treatment rooms to supplement the offering within this area when the spa reopens please get in touch here.
Will I still be able to book a tennis court?
We’re working with the tennis club and local staff teams to explore the opportunity to continue a relationship for the use of this area. We will provide further updates when available.
Will my club or myself still be able to continue booking the facilities?
Yes! We’re working with the YMCA to make contact with all of the current bookers. Where our plans to utilise more space to enhance our group exercise programme may have any impact on your booking, we will work with you to make this as minimal as possible to allow full sports hall use to continue. We have no plans to change the size or space in the sports hall.
