Temporary Closure at Bicester Leisure Centre

Due to major electrical works which are required on the main distribution board, some of the facilities are going to be closed for a period from Tuesday 21 July 2026 - Monday 10 August 2026. 

Separate structural works are also taking place on the Play N Teach roof, which means this pool will not be accessible until early September.

What are the dates of the closure? 

• Tuesday 21 July: Completely Closed. (Full closure for the day).
• Wednesday 22 July – Thursday 6 August: Partially Open. You can use the Gym, Sports Hall, and Outdoor Pitches. Fitness classes are still running, but they've been moved into the Sports Hall.
• Friday 7 August: Completely Closed. (Another full closure for the day).
• Saturday 8 August – Sunday 9 August: Partially Open. Only the Gym and Sports Hall are open. Pool remains closed until Tuesday.
• Monday 10th August: The whole centre will open. The pool remains closed until Tuesday.
• Tuesday 11 August: Main Pool will reopen.

The Play N Teach pool will remain closed until the beginning of September.

What changes are being made? 

Major Electrical works are taking place on the main distribution board. Structural works are also taking place on the Play N Teach roof.

Can I still use the Centre? 

The Gym will remain open throughout the whole project, as well as the Sports Hall and outside courts. Group Fitness classes will be relocated to the Sports Hall for the duration of the project. Customers will need to come ready for their sessions. No changing rooms will be available.

Can I use other facilities? 

Throughout the project, Health and Fitness customers, and Swimming Membership customers can use Kidlington & Gosford Leisure Centre and Spiceball Leisure Centre.

Bookings can be made via the Leisure Centre App, by changing the home club, or via their Leisure Centre website with your normal login credentials.

What will happen to Swimming Lessons? 

Emails will be sent out to all Members on our Learn To Swim Programme about their lessons from Tuesday 21 July to Monday 10 August. 

Children still attending lessons will be able to take advantage of free swimming as part of their membership at both Kidlington & Gosford Leisure Centre and Spiceball Leisure Centre.

What will the opening hours be? 

Every day we will be open from 06:00 - 21:00.

How will I see the Group Fitness Class Timetable? 

The timetable and bookings will take place as normal via the Leisure Centre App and Website. 

Can I still use the car park? 

Yes - When attending the Leisure Centre, parking will still be available.

How will I access the Leisure Centre? 

All customers will enter through the Sports Hall doors, and check in with our temporary Reception desk.

Will toilets and changing rooms be available? 

Toilets will be available in a welfare unit located in the car park. These facilities are accessibility-friendly. 
All customers will need to arrive for their activity ready, as changing rooms won't be available.

How will I be kept updated? 

We will send out emails with full details, and also provide updates via our social media platforms throughout the project.
