We are pleased to confirm that the leisure centre re-opened today (Friday 24 February) following yesterday’s precautionary evacuation.

We would like to thank the emergency services for their swift and effective response following reports of chemicals being left in a locker after being brought onto the site by a centre user.

The building was evacuated as a precaution, and no one has been injured. Emergency services then removed the substance.

We are grateful to our customers for their patience and understanding and our staff who acted diligently and professionally throughout.

Those customers who were directly affected will be contacted as soon as possible and our open weekend will go ahead as planned tomorrow (Saturday 25 February) and Sunday.
