This is an outstanding career opportunity with a not for profit charitable organisation committed to providing a diverse and meaningful range of leisure and culture related activities for the local communities in which we serve.
Bicester Leisure Centre seeks competent Manager to oversee all aspects of operational and strategic management. Bicester Leisure Centre is part of 3 leisure facilities in the Cherwell Contract in North Oxfordshire and consists of 25m Swimming Pool, Play n Teach Pool, 90 station Health & Fitness Centre, 6 Lane Ten Pin Bowling Centre, 4 Court Sports Hall, Activity Hall, Exercise Studio, 3 Squash Courts, 2 Floodlit All Weather 5 aside pitches, Crèche, Café and Bar facilities.
Reporting to the Contract Manager, the successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the effective management and operation of the Centre, ensuring that high standards of customer services are set and maintained and financial performance is achieved.
We want Bicester Leisure Centre to be the ‘go to’ destination in the local area for health, fitness and well-being activities.
This position will allow you to develop your skills and reputation whilst enhancing safe and enjoyable usage of the facilities.
You will be given freedom to manage and develop your staff efficiently to meet customer and operational requirements. In return you will be expected to create a dynamic, innovative and responsive team through your communication and management styles.
Candidates must have a strong understanding of financial procedures and must be able to manage the Centre budgets whilst developing and improving operational procedures in line with QUEST.
To effectively manage this big and busy leisure facility, you will need to be able to multi-task and balance the demands of your staff team as well as meeting the expectations of the customers.
You will be an experienced and confident leader who can motivate your team.
It is essential that you possess excellent communication, and stakeholder liaison skills whilst being both forthcoming and diplomatic at the same time.
Ideally you will have a recognised qualification in Leisure Management or educated to degree level or NVQ3.
You will have extensive knowledge of the leisure industry, and preferably NPLQ, First Aid and PPO qualifications.
£30,500 annual salary
