Sway Dance proudly exhibited at Move It 2014 in a key location on stand 343 from the 7th – 9th March 2014. Move It is the UK’s biggest dance event, attracting over 20,000 dance enthusiasts from all over the country and Europe. The weekend was packed with performances, classes, shopping and celebrity interviews.
Highlights of the event included performances from Got To Dance stars Lucas Macfarlane, Poison and Chris & Wes, X Factor choreographer Sisco Gomez, Strictly Stars Ian Waite and Natalie Lowe, Britain’s Got Talent stars Twist and Pulse and many of the top UK based performing arts colleges. Interviews with prima ballerina Darcey Bussell, Flawless and Diversity were also enjoyed by many of the Move It visitors, some waiting hours to see their dance icons.
Kylie Stevenson, Sway Dance Brand Manager delivered two sold out dance classes over the weekend, a street dance class and a disco class to over 160 visitors of all ages ranging from 6 – 45 years old. These classes were thoroughly enjoyed by all with many dancers enquiring where their nearest Sway Dance class was located.
The Sway Dance stand was promoted by a number of dance teaching staff from all over the country, including West Berkshire, Solihull, North Somerset, Portsmouth, Bexley, Nottingham and Cherwell. A fantastic teaching team, who continue to produce fabulous professional work with our Sway Dance students throughout the year.
Sway Dance raised money this year at Move It for our nominated charity Together For Short Lives by selling Sway Dance wristbands for £1 to visitors. Hundreds of visitors entered our competition to win full Sway Dance uniform and many teachers expressed their interest to come and work for us.
Move It 2014 allowed Sway Dance to have a platform within the dance industry to create brand awareness to a large audience. An extremely successful event for all those who attended and assisted at the event!
