About Rugby

Rugby is a great game full of physicality and strength! Made up of two 15-player teams, the ball is passed between the players to reach the opposite team’s try line. The pitch includes two identical posts to kick conversions and drop goals. The game is a contact sport, full of tackles, kicks, and passes. Rugby is excellent for teamwork and team spirit!

Benefits of Rugby

Rugby teams are renowned for their social spirit, working as a team on and off the pitch; which is why great friendships are struck through this game! As well as social benefits, there are the numerous health and fitness benefits that come with training and playing rugby. As it’s a sport reliant on heavy contact you will be able to increase your strength, stamina and agility. Each position requires different physical attributes making it an inclusive activity for everyone with a passion for sport!

What Should I Wear?

Outdoor rugby requires you to wear rugby boots with studs or blades for minimal risk of injury on the field. Rugby shorts and a suitable top are needed as well as socks and gum-shield. You may wish to bring along a skull cap. We highly advise you bring plenty of water to keep you hydrated during your session.
