Bowls is a sport suitable for everyone, no matter what age or ability. It is an inclusive and sociable sport that involves rolling biased (weighted) balls as close to a smaller ball called the ‘jack’ as possible. This game requires concentration and precision, and with many leagues and tournaments there is plenty of room for competition! Bowls can be played indoors or outdoors and can be played as an easygoing social game or in clubs and competitive leagues.
Bowls is a moderate intensity exercise that is great for all members of the family and friends alike. The social benefits to bowls are numerous as you will often become part of a close community of bowlers. You will improve on your hand-eye coordination through playing bowls as well as developing mental ability through including skills and tactics into your game.
What Should I Wear?
We recommend that you wear loose clothing or sportswear in order to keep cool and ensure maximum flexibility. We would advise that you wear suitable shoes for comfort and support. We also recommend that you bring plenty of water to keep hydrated during your session.
