Two local events gave dancers from Torbay Leisure Centre the opportunity to show what they can do. At the Paignton Carnival, on Wednesday 27th July, young dancers, lead by their instructors, Paul Harrison, Rachel Dollar and Kelly Fogarty, from Torbay Leisure Centre, took part in the parade and won First Prize in Best of Carnival, in their category.
Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th September, saw the streets of Torquay Town Centre buzzing with entertainment featuring international artists, dance and street entertainers for the first ever Torquay Dance Festival. This was another opportunity for Paul Harrison to lead his Zumba ladies and Kelly Fogarty to lead her Street Dance children to perform on one of the three dance stages at the festival.
Alex Fuoco-Lang, Manager of Torbay Leisure Centre, said “we are so proud of our all our dancers, who have demonstrated with great enthusiasm and passion, that dance is open for everyone of all ages and abilities. Our dance instructors, Paul, Rachel and Kelly, have put so much time and planning into these events and building the confidence of all those who took part”.
