Pupils Benefit From Vital Life-Saving Course

First Mini Medics kids first aid course delivered to local school

A group of school children have learned some life-saving skills. The 20 pupils from St Anne's Primary School, which is based across sites in Hewish and West Wick, were the first to take part in Hutton Moor Leisure Centre's Mini Medics scheme.

The project aims to teach young people basic first aid skills wich could one day help to save someone's life. Headteacher Lisa Dadds said:"This was a wonderful session. "The children had lots of fun and also learned some vital life-saving skills".

The pupils who took part in the three-hour course were given a certificate, workbook, pen and swimming voucher to congratulate them on their efforts.

Hutton Moor's general manager, Dave Somers said "We were delighted to deliver our first Mini Medics school workshop to St Anne's. "We can't emphasise enough how important it is to teach children these life-saving skills from an early age and hope the children benefited from the course".
