Following last month’s announcement by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, residents are being informed that free swimming in Solihull has now ended
The free swimming for under 16s and the over 60s was part of £73 million worth of savings announced by Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport.
Councillor Graham Craig, Cabinet Member for Community Services, said: “It is really disappointing that the free swimming provision has been cut, but I hope it doesn’t put people off going for a swim in Solihull. We have some fantastic facilities at both our leisure centres and lots of different packages available, why not grab this opportunity to try it out for free before the end of July and see what we have to offer?”
More information about swimming options in Solihull is available from either Tudor Grange or North Solihull Leisure Centre.
Please Look out for swimming offers in the next few weeks.
