Aquazone Swimming Lessons Are Changing

04 Sep 2008
We are currently embarking on a change to the Aquazone swimming scheme.

Aquazone swimming lessons are based upon a framework called the National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS) produced by the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA), the UK’s National Governing Body for Swimming. The NPTS is a national syllabus and assessment plan that all of our teachers follow.

The ASA have recently updated the syllabus of the National Plan, therefore Aquazone swimming lessons needs to change in order to meet the new standards.

The new programme will supersede the existing one, and therefore you may notice some changes over the coming term to the classes and skills being taught.

The new NPTS framework encourages children to learn to swim in a fun environment. The use of fun activities to deliver learning outcomes is proven to be the most effective way for children to learn and all activities will have a purpose behind them.

The new plan also develops a wider range of skills, which leads to better swimmers.

Your child’s journey from non-swimmer to potential Olympic champion will be enhanced with the new programme. There are progressive stepping-stones along the way and more opportunities to develop techniques in a wider variety of water based sports.
