My name is Dave Radmall and I am the Centre Manager here at Bingham Leisure Centre. This report will have all the information regarding the month of May for Bingham Leisure Centre including upcoming works and events taking place..
Firstly we have had our wooden gym transferred into our NEW Functional Training room, we’ve got new exciting equipment such as; Tire Flips, Quad Sled, Vertical Rope Climb, TRX Pro Suspension Trainer, High Bars, Wall Bars, Slam Balls, Plyometric Soft Boxes and much more.... We had our first Open day on 5th June and was well received. We will have the opening times and programme advertised shortly.
You may have noticed on our Social Media pages that we have started a weekly Fit Street campaign, for you to nominate your street to win the use of our; 65 station gym, group exercise classes, 25m swimming pool and all racket sports for 7 consecutive days, visit our social media outlets to vote for your street.
We held our second Aquathon event in May and this was well attended with entrants coming from all areas of the country.
We held a National Pool Lifeguard Course in May and this was attended by several local students. Please watch out for notices in the Centre regarding the next course. This is a National qualification to enable local young people to gain entry into working in our Industry.
We’ve got another Boxing event here in June 2017. We’ll be having our Annual open day soon with lots of fun for all the family of all ages, look out for posters around the centre plus all the information that can be found on our social media outlets.
I have tried to put off mentioning the dreaded car parking issue. But at this point I thought it quite pertinent to mention at this point.
Toothill are starting the development of the old Youth Club building. The impact from June to September on the car parking will be even greater as the contractors will be using 7 car parking spaces near the main hall as a compound. I am sure you will be as patient as always as this development takes place.
We are still working with the school to look at how they can improve the car parking facilities for all. I will keep you updated as and when I have any further information.
Our Member of the month
Member of the Month is - Sam Matthews - Sam has been chosen as Member of the Month for May as he has gone above and beyond by helping us hugely with the launch of our Brand New Functional Training Room. Not only has he gone out of his way to help us in his spare time he is always a familiar face in the Gym and always gives 100% when he works out. Sam shows that even with a full time job, busy social life and time consuming hobbies you can still find time to work on your health and fitness! Keep up the great work Sam.
