This is an outstanding career opportunity with a not for profit charitable organisation committed to providing a diverse and meaningful range of leisure and culture related activities for the local communities in which we serve. Our Swimming Lessons within the Vale of Glamorgan operates across 3 swimming pools and runs a dynamic programme. 

 

We are looking for an Energetic, enthusiastic and customer focused individual with a passion for swimming. 

 

The Opportunity

We are looking for an Energetic, enthusiastic and customer focused individual with a passion for swimming. Must be a competent swimmer. You must not hold an HND, Degree or Level 2 NVQ qualification in the same subject and you must have been a UK or EU resident for at least 3 years.

 

The suitable candidate must have a passion for swimming and customer service. Has the ability and willingness to acquire job related knowledge, Willingness to learn, have an Outgoing personality with Confidence. The individual would need excellent communication skills and have flexibility for working weekends.

 

The Person

  • Interested in a career in the Leisure Industry, especially swimming.

  • Flexible working hours 

  • Able to instruct swimming lessons

  • Customer service 

  • Computer skills 

  • Full driving licence 

  • Supervisory experience 

  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or NRASTC

  • Level 1 Swimming Assistant 

  • Level 2 Swimming Teachers Qualification

  • Will be able to communicate well with both children and adults 

  • Will be able to gain acceptance and respect from colleagues and customers 

  • Will be able to build strong relationships with customers, colleagues and Instructors

  • Friendly, well-presented with positive attitude

  • Professional telephone and interpersonal manner 

  • Able to use own initiative, to follow procedures and learn to work to deadlines 

  • Demonstrate computer literacy skills 

  • Be punctual 

  • Aware of health and safety, equality and diversity in the workplace

  • Ability to multitask 

  • Good organisational skills 

 

Job Description 

  • Promoting swimming lessons and other aquatic activities at the chosen facility.

  • Operationally Focused

  • Customer satisfaction oriented

  • Community outreach of the swimming programme

  • Supporting the Contract Aquatics Manager, reporting to them

  • Cover swimming lessons, potentially at short notice for programme consistency

  • Cover pool supervision responsibilities when required

  • Safeguarding and implementation of swimming pool policies and procedures

  • Maintain the aquatic facility cleanliness standards

  • Responding to swimming lesson enquiries, feedback and concerns

  • Ensure successful delivery of the Aquatics programme at site in line with the Aquatic Coordinators expectations

The key duties for the Aquatics Supervisor

  • Operationally Focused for Swimming programme

  • Customer satisfaction

  • Swimming lesson outreach and promotions/enrolment of customer

  • Maximise retention of swimming programme through quality standards and motivation.

Due to the nature of the role the post is subject to a current DBS disclosure.
