Has your exercise routine become bland? Did it used to feel like a symphony of achievement and success and now it feels as though you’re just waiting for that burst of enthusiasm again? Or maybe you’re new to all of this fitness malarkey, you know it’s supposed to be good for you, but where do you even start?

That’s where group fitness comes in. Below are some great reasons to get involved in local group fitness classes.

    Instructor Led

The fact that they are instructor led, means that you don’t have to worry about pre-planning, you know you are safe, and you know that you will be doing the correct techniques. Instructors are brilliant at getting you fired up and raring to go whether you are dancing, swinging a kettlebell or pumping your legs in a spin class.

    Surrounded by Motivation

As well as the instructor pushing you, you will be alongside others and therefore more motivated to push yourself. Depending on your personal taste, you will either be motivated by the competitiveness of the class or the camaraderie and support of others. It’s a win-win!

    Social and Anonymous

This may seem like a contradictory statement but in fact you can make the classes as social or as anonymous as you like. You may find comfort in the fact that there are many people in the classes, drawing attention away from yourself allowing you to focus on pushing yourself 100% without any inhibitions!

On the other hand, classes are an excellent environment to meet new people and new friends. If you’re a creature of habit and enjoy the same session every week, chances are you aren’t the only one and will often see familiar faces each time you visit.

    Variety and Fun

Most gym memberships these days include free use of fitness classes. Not only will these fitness classes complement your gym or swim routine, but there are so many to choose from you’ll struggle to get bored! If one class is no longer firing up your motivation, it’s easy enough to try another- this way you’re more likely to stick to an active lifestyle. When you’re more likely to stick to an active and healthy lifestyle, you’re also more likely to see the results you really want.
